Reliquary description

Is worth to mention that this relic was made in very difficult times for humanity, in the middle of the Great war (ca 1917), its maker was His Eminence Basilio Pompili (16 April 1858 – 5 May 1931), Italian cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church.

He served as Vicar General of Rome from 1913 until his death, and was elevated to the cardinalate in 1911.

At the back of the reliquary, we find his matching coat of arms wax seal, ensuring the authenticity of the relics and its connection with the authentication document.

We can see the special care he took with this particular reliquary by the exquisite brass filigree work in the shape of a monstrance he commissioned.
