Reliquary 1 St Class Relic St. Peter Canisius + Wax Seal

This early 20th-century reliquary holds a 1 St Class relic of:

Saint Peter Canisius – Doctor of the Church, 2nd Apostle of Germany
Was a Dutch Jesuit priest known for his strong support for the Catholic faith during the Protestant Reformation in Germany, Austria, Bohemia, Moravia, Switzerland and the British Isles. The restoration of the Catholic Church in Germany is largely attributed to the work there of the Jesuits, which Canisius led. He is venerated in the Catholic Church as a saint and as a Doctor of the Church. His feast day is 6 June, his death anniversary.
The relic is housed in a simple yet elegant oval silvered brass reliquary. It is securely enclosed beneath its original glass and displays a purple velvet background, further highlighting the saint's name. the reliquary is from the time of his Canonization in the 1920s.
At the back of the reliquary, we find the Episcopal’ s wax seal of a Bishop holding the threads together and guaranteeing the authenticity of this holy relic.

This piece is in excellent condition for its age, with all elements preserved intact, including the wax seal and accompanying green silk cord.
